Adoption Options for Birthmothers: Finding the Right Path for You and Your Baby

adoption options

Facing an unplanned pregnancy can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to go through it alone. At Adoption by Shepherd Care (ASC), we are here to help you explore adoption options. Our team members are ready to walk beside you with care, respect, and zero judgment. Whether you’re still considering your unplanned pregnancy options or thinking about putting your baby up for adoption, we’re here to help you explore what’s best for you.

Understand Your Choices

Every woman’s story is different. That’s why knowing all your adoption options and making the right decision for your future is important.

Parenting Your Child

You can parent the child. No one can take care of your child better than yourself. Ask yourself a few questions like

  1. Am I emotionally and financially ready to raise a child?
  2. Am I ready to make the 24/7/365 commitment to parenting a child for at least the next 18 years?
  3. What kind of future do I envision for myself and my baby?

Placing Your Child for Adoption

Talk to Us

First, you need to contact us. We are available 24/7, 365 days to listen to birth mothers like you. Discuss whatever you are facing in pregnancy. Based on the discussion, we’ll help you understand unplanned pregnancy and its options.

Financial Assistance

During pregnancy, you may need support as going to work seems difficult. We often find that birth mothers are studying in school or college. For them, paying bills seems impossible. We will help you get financial support during and after pregnancy if needed.

Choose the Right Adoptive Family

Remember, there is always a family to love your child unconditionally. We will help you find a loving and kind adoptive family for adoption in Miami-Dade. These families are pre-screened and verified.

Make a Custom Baby Adoption Plan

Our team will help you create a custom adoption plan for your child. Typically, three types of adoption plans are available: open, semi-open, and closed. You can choose any of these plans to place your child for adoption.

Get Post Adoption Counseling

Post-delivery will be a tough time for birth mothers. We will create a post-adoption plan that helps you move forward and provide the support you need after adoption.

Official Statement from
Adoption by Shepherd Care

It has come to our attention that the Hulu series Good American Family contains inaccurate information regarding Adoption by Shepherd Care (ASC) and the adoption of Natalia. We would like to take this opportunity to clarify the facts.

Contrary to what is presented in the documentary, ASC did not initiate any communication or have any involvement with Mr. or Mrs. Barnett in connection to Natalia’s adoption. The legal adoption process for Natalia was completed in the state of New Hampshire, where the original adoptive family resided, and was facilitated through a New Hampshire-based agency—not Adoption by Shepherd Care.

For those seeking further clarification, we encourage you to watch The Curious Case of Natalia Grace, Season 2, Episode 1, which clearly states that Adoption by Shepherd Care was not the agency responsible for facilitating this adoption.

We want to express our respect for all agencies and professionals engaged in this vital work. However, it is essential that accurate information is shared with the public and that the correct entities are acknowledged for their role in any adoption process.

At Adoption by Shepherd Care, we remain steadfast in our mission to place children in safe, loving, and permanent homes. We uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ethical practice, and compassion for the children and families we serve.

We respectfully request that the media and members of the public refrain from further spreading misinformation related to this matter. While we understand the interest in this case, we also urge respect for the privacy and dignity of all individuals involved. Adoption is a deeply personal and emotional journey that must be approached with sensitivity and integrity.

Adoption by Shepherd Care will continue its unwavering commitment to finding loving and permanent placements for children, guided by the principles of honesty, compassion, and respect.
